John Cannon & Cary Frank
John Cannon & Cary Frank
The Outdoor Dining Room
An extensive knowledge of art, design and antiques, coupled with a friendly demeanor and intense passion for his craft, have made John Cannon one of Chicago's most celebrated and admired designers.
Working from a strong point of historical reference, John specializes in framing the important qualities of air and light, which make up the "bones" of any great space, to allow for a gracious living experience. However, it's his commitment to high standards, willingness to listen and unwavering attention to detail that allow him to carefully translate clients' aspirations into one-of-a-kind spatial experiences.
Together with his partner Cary Frank, John established and operates Cannon Frank, a versatile, extraordinarily high-service interior design office. Their work takes them all over the country – from Beverly Hills to Nantucket – and throughout the world, having recently commissioned a second project in Ghana. Their accomplishments have led to awards, articles and a revered reputation among the city's aesthetically elite.
John and Cary both support organizations near and dear to their hearts, including co-chairing many fundraising events for and serving on the boards of the Pedersen-McCormick Boys and Girls Club, Heartland Alliance, Lakefront Supportive Housing, LAMBDA Legal and DIFFA Chicago.
In 2013, Cannon Frank was awarded the prestigious honor of Chicago's Interior Design Firm of the Year by LUXE Interiors + Design and the Design Center at The Merchandise Mart.
